So, another bandcamp tidying session results in the third b-roads compilation, and a document of the transition from 2-piece back to solo project. Mark's final two contributions to Broads kick off the album - Red Pits was a little piano piece from the Ollust sessions that I stretched out and smothered in murky sampled noise before putting it out as the b-side to the Happisburgh single just before the world turned upside-down.

As lockdown bedded in, we put out a digital single featuring Buchanan (a Mark solo piece), Broze (originally a Gold Hick experiment but it seemed to fit the Broads vibe better), and Chairman's interlude, written in tribute to Andrew Weatherall who was as responsible as anyone for getting me into electronic music.

The first of two previously unreleased tracks on this comp, Bivalve is the sound of me trying to get to grips with live midi controls around autumn 2020 (not altogether successfully, but hey...), and then there's a bit of a gap where I really didn't make very much music at all - returning in early 2022 with vague plans to maybe put a new album together. It's Just The Inside... was the first thing I wrote for what was to become the Touch Machine LP, but things quickly took a less ambient direction with that record so it went out as a single in summer 2022, backed with an older song written for Zof's cat Sasha.

Other outtakes from the Touch Machine sessions included here are Sad Wi-Fi Ending (the other previously unreleased track), and the trio of Appropriate Water (which almost made the cut), Herz (just a sketch really) and V-Shaped (which started off as me trying to copy the intro from Mis-Teeq's 'All I Want' but turned into something different entirely). Those last three filled out the On Par With Swings EP.

The end of 2022 saw me working with drummer Jess Blake to create a soundtrack for a selection of archive films for the BFI - we wrote 5 new tracks for the occasion, but only got around to recording 3 of them and they're included here too.

Finally, a really beautiful Antlerman remix of Happisburgh for which I'm very grateful.
